Lolita is a type of clothing style in Japan. Lolita came from England and if I remember correctly Japan adopted this type of style. What Lolita symbolizes “innocence” and “cute” rather than “sexy”. Lolita is more of a Victorian doll look, most of the body is covered with the dresses knee high or longer and long sleeves and high shoes with delicate looking accessories you’ll feel as if you’re ready for a tea party. Lolita is popular in the Japanese culture that they even have conventions for this type of style. No one really knows how this style became so well known, but the one person who brought Lolita to what it is now is Mana. Mana is one of the vital ingredients to what made Lolita so well liked, but don’t be fooled by the name; Mana is a guy who dress like a women, and believe me he looks the part, he’s also in a band and that’s probably another reason why Lolita became popular. I may have a basic understanding of the style Lolita and its history but I want the details from who the creator was, how it evolved in England and then Japan. How the dresses were made, how it is still widely liked today if it’s as old as dirt and just have a deeper understanding of this wonderful clothing style called Lolita. I’m personally interesting in this clothing style Lolita because of its Victorian look, I’ve always loved the dressed in old movies and thought I wish I could have one of those. I am not sure how or when I became interesting in Lolita, but from what I can remember I think the first time I was introduced to Lolita was probably a year or two years ago through an Anime (for those of you who do not know what “Anime” is, it’s a type of animation which comes from the popular art style in Japan known as “Manga”) called Paradise Kiss and Rosen Maiden. When I saw the style of their clothes it was love at fist sight! I knew I had to find out more about this style of clothing. I believe I found out from a friend or a friend told me about the style and from then on I’ve been searching the net for these elegant dresses, I even plan to hand make my own Lolita dresses with the help and inspiration of Japan and of course patters to get me going. Well what can I say, Lolita is my obsession at the moment.
