Bush widens worker checks
The Bush administration is calling for aggressive action against illegal workers by forcing all companies doing business with the Federal Government to ensuring there employs are legal U.S citizens. They will do this by using a system called E-Verify to check workers Social Security numbers. The E-Verify system is already being use by 69,000 companies, and an estimated 1,000 firms are signing up weekly for a free internet based system. “E-Verify has already been a success in the past”, Chertoff said. But Timothy D. Sparapani of the American Civil Liberties Union argued that E-Verify is “not really immigration enforcement” because the system has failed to detect people who have used papers stolen from legal workers. From what I have read this system may not be fool proof, but at least it is a start to cracking down on illegal immigration.

i think government will need to find out a new way to verify people. It is time to use high tecnology to verify peolple probably with finger prints, or something that could dectect persons more precise.
