It was during the last days of September when I found out I was pregnant. My Boyfriend was very excited, my mom was surprised, my dad was furious as well as my brothers, and well the aunts and uncles thought it was a lie. I wasn't getting many symptoms, but since it was a planned pregnancy Fernando kept insisting for me to go to the clinic. First I wanted to wait to miss my monthly visitor. Instead I just waited three weeks before I went to the clinic. Sure enough after I gave them the cup of urine the lady in the pink scrubs gave me the news. For some odd reason I was shocked to hear "Mija, your pregnant." At first I stayed quiet and speechless then I just began laughing. Maybe I was nervous, because I didn't know how or when I would tell my parents. So many things ran through my mind while I drove home.
