This world a

Week before

Halloween on

October 23, 1990.

Born in the beautiful

City of Ventura, California

I have never left my

Home town. I have

Traveled to the highlands

Of Mexico and seen the

Lightning strike trees

Burning them to a crisp.

I’ve departed Mexico

On a plane when the

Sun was just rising.

My father’s disappeared

From my life for seven

Years. My mother has

Raised me herself.

The first girl I kissed

I do not love. I’ve gone

To preschool and

Loved it. I’ve rode the

School bus to school

Up until eleventh grade.

I played soccer during

Lunch all through

Middle school. I went

Through 3 girlfriends

In middle school. I’ve

Felt snowflakes hit

My face constantly.

The stomach flu has

Visited me for 3 days

Straight. I’ve entered

High school not

Knowing what to

Expect. The waves of

Hawaii have greeted

Me. I’ve been scared

For bears to attack

Me while I camped

In the wilderness.

My family has kept

Me company whenever

I am lonely. Off of

A tree branch I’ve

Fallen and hit my head.

I’ve enjoyed eating

Three hundred licorice

In two days. I have

Fallen asleep as late

As seven in the

Morning. I have

Seen the happy faces

Of my family and

Friends as I graduated

High school. I’ve

Discovered a girlfriend

That I don’t ever want

To rid of. I’ve

Attended my fathers

Funeral, the saddest

Of all events for me in life.
